Joanna Schwartz brings more than ten years of business and commercial lending experience to her position of Managing Director at Silver Hill Financial. In 2003, she oversaw the launch of Silver Hill as Senior Vice President and was promoted to Managing Director of the company in 2004, responsible for day-to-day operations and growth of the company's small-balance commercial mortgage loan business.
Named 2005 "Business Woman of the Year" by the South Florida Business Journal and one of the 2006 "Top Women in Florida Commercial Real Estate" by Florida Real Estate Journal, Joanna has been recognized for her leadership, innovation and community contributions. Silver Hill has been named one of the "Best Places to Work" in South Florida three times by the South Florida Business Journal. Often cited in national trade articles as an expert on the commercial real estate business, Joanna has also authored several articles in industry publications such as Mortgage Banking, Banker & Tradesman, National Mortgage Broker and Commercial Mortgage Insight.
Prior to founding Silver Hill, Joanna was a Vice President with parent company Bayview Financial, during which time she focused her efforts on developing the firms' Financial Institutions Practice. Before joining Bayview, she was an Associate Marketing Director for Digitas, LLC, in Miami; Chief Financial Officer of Latinet Holding Corporation in Panama City, Panama; and a Risk Manager at Citibank in New York.
Joanna holds an MBA from Harvard University, and a bachelor's degree in political science with a psychology minor from the University of Vermont.
